Adjunct Assistant Professor/Psychiatrist
About The Position
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to provide direct patient care within the Center for Women's Health. This role involves psychiatric evaluation, psychopharmacologic, and psychotherapy services for patients with a focus on women's mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, perinatal mood disorders, and issues related to aging and chronic illness. The Psychiatrist will collaborate with colleagues, provide instruction and supervision to learners, and contribute to the university's missions of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. The position requires adherence to professional standards, laws, and OHSU policies.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree.
- Board certified Psychiatrist.
- Minimum of 2 years post-residency clinical experience in women’s mental health OR fellowship trained in Women’s Mental Health or Psychosomatic Medicine.
- Strong interest in women’s mental health and in resident and student education.
- Oregon State Licensure.
- ABPN Board Certified.
- Credentialed and privileged as a member of the OHSU Professional Staff.
Nice To Haves
- Specialty emphasis and/or interest in receiving additional training on the psychiatric aspects of women’s mental health, specifically addressing perinatal mood disorders and treatment, perinatal loss care, infertility, sexual dysfunction, parenting and relational difficulties.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as a psychiatrist for patients within the Center for Women's Health.
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, psychopharmacologic, and psychotherapy services.
- Address mental health issues common to or specific to women, including depression, anxiety, perinatal loss and bereavement, perinatal mood disorders, female sexual dysfunction, adult developmental issues, and partnership/marital concerns.
- Work as a member of the Reproductive Psychiatry and Behavioral Health division to optimize operations and ensure a fiscally viable and excellent patient care and learning environment.
- Provide instruction and supervision of learners.
- Collaborate with medical colleagues throughout the Center and OHSU.
- Comply with scope of practice, laws, regulations, OHSU policy, and professional standards of practice.
