About The Position

TriStar Summit Medical Center is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered acute care in accordance with department requirements and applicable state and specialty standards of practice. The nurse collaborates with medical providers and the care team to deliver personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The role also advocates for patients, families, and caregivers and supports positive patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), BCLS Instructor, or CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date.
• Associate degree or bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients on admission and during each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes in their status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers, and document care accurately and promptly in the medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and respond appropriately to unintended medication effects.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipate patient needs, and resolve them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring understanding of complex medical information.
• Advocate for patients, families, and caregivers while collaborating with medical providers and the care team.
