About The Position

The RN Acute Care nurse provides top-of-scope nursing practice in a virtual care environment using the nursing process. The role monitors patients from a virtual center in collaboration with the onsite inpatient care team, monitors safety and quality measures, and communicates algorithmic interventions and recommendations to onsite nurses, hospital supervisors, and physicians to support the best care outcomes. The nurse works within a multidisciplinary team, prioritizes wellness, patient perspective, and evidence-based practice, and contributes to safety and quality at the point of care. The position also includes precepting colleagues who are new to healthcare and/or UCHealth and participating in individualized specialty education and competency validation during clinical orientation, with support from clinical educators. This is an onsite position at UCHealth Greeley Hospital in Greeley, Colorado, within the Virtual Quality Support department. The schedule is full time, 72 hours per two-week pay period, with a day and evening rotation. Pay is $35.29–$54.71 per hour, dependent on relevant experience.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
At least 6 months of RN nursing experience.
BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; card must be in hand before the start date and remain valid through 60 days after hire. Renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care in a virtual care environment using the nursing process and practicing to the top of scope.
Monitor patients from the virtual center in collaboration with the onsite inpatient care team.
Monitor safety and quality-of-care measures and intervene or provide recommendations to the onsite clinical team.
Communicate algorithmic interventions proactively to unit nurses, hospital supervisors, and physicians to facilitate care outcomes.
Contribute to patient safety and quality at the point of care.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and prioritize wellness, patient perspective, and evidence-based practice.
Precept people who are new to healthcare and/or UCHealth.
Participate in specialty education and competency validation during clinical orientation, supported by clinical educators.
