About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring an acute care registered nurse for a PRN day position. The nurse administers and coordinates care for acute care patients receiving active treatment in a hospital or inpatient/observation setting. The role includes assessing patients, developing and revising individualized plans of care, evaluating progress, documenting care, and providing compassionate, age-appropriate care while adhering to evidence-based practice, regulatory standards, patient rights, and Baptist Health policies. Depending on the assignment, the position may also support the Hospital Care at Home program. Patient Care Hub nurses use TeleHealth technology to assess patients virtually, conduct care visits, and escalate potential deterioration in collaboration with in-home clinical and support staff. In-home nurses provide direct care in patients’ homes, coordinate with the virtual Patient Care Hub, respond to urgent or emergent needs, use in-home virtual technology, and transport or deliver requested items, equipment, and medications, excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs. In-home work requires travel within a specific geographical region and entry into patient homes. The nurse may serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, or nurse clinician; collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams; contribute to performance improvement and professional practice; and support the orientation and development of colleagues and students. Baptist Health describes its workplace as valuing collaboration, innovation, and dedication, and states that it is an equal opportunity employer, including for veterans and people with disabilities.
