About The Position

SageSure is seeking an intern to support its Specialty Property underwriting and analytics teams. Based in the Fairfield, California office, the role provides hands-on exposure to specialty property insurance and the opportunity to apply data analytics, research, and problem-solving skills to business challenges. The intern will work with Specialty Property leaders, product, risk and data analysts, and underwriters to analyze data, develop insights, and contribute to initiatives supporting portfolio growth and risk management.

The position offers exposure to residential property insurance, product development, pricing, and underwriting operations in a high-growth environment, as well as practical analytics experience, mentorship and networking opportunities, and participation in projects affecting SageSure’s specialty property strategy and portfolio.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Actuarial and Data Science, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams.
• AI experience or coursework, such as applied AI, machine learning, natural language processing, or workplace analytics tools.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with SQL, Python, or business intelligence tools.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriters in evaluating individual risks by analyzing third-party data and identifying portfolio patterns or trends.
• Assist with developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using tools such as Excel, Domo, SQL, or other tools to track business performance.
• Conduct ad hoc data analysis and research to provide insights for underwriting decisions.
• Partner with Specialty Property leaders on projects related to pricing, portfolio strategy, and market expansion.
• Assist in preparing presentations and materials for leadership meetings and client discussions.
• Contribute to process improvements that streamline underwriting support and strengthen cross-functional collaboration.
