About The Position

The Activity Coordinator coordinates and implements activities in an Assisted Living setting at Edgebrook Care Center in Edgerton, Minnesota. This part-time position is scheduled for 8 hours per week and is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing activities for tenants. The coordinator assesses residents’ needs, develops programming to meet those needs, leads or assists with activities, and evaluates program effectiveness. The role also works with volunteers and supports community involvement. Willingness to drive the facility bus for outings is preferred.

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of caring for people with special needs.
Ability and desire to be creative.
Ability to adapt programs and supplies to meet individual resident needs.

Responsibilities

Assess residents’ needs and develop plans for programming that meets identified needs.
Lead or assist with conducting programming and evaluate its effectiveness.
Plan, organize, and execute activities for tenants.
Assure community involvement with the center or campus and work with volunteers.
Keep the activity area free of hazards.
Keep potentially harmful substances in locked storage and discard them properly.
Follow appropriate safety measures during outings and ensure residents are supervised at all times during planned groups and outings.
Report signs or symptoms of resident infections to appropriate staff.
Store food items properly, with labels and dates on items and containers.
Clean and sanitize supplies and equipment according to the set schedule.
Follow guidelines and policies regarding pets and animals.
