About The Position

The Activity Coordinator plans, organizes, and executes activities for tenants in an Assisted Living setting. The role assesses residents’ needs and develops programming to meet those needs, leads or assists with activities, and evaluates how effective the programming is. The coordinator supports community involvement and works with volunteers, and may drive the facility bus for outings. The position is part-time, 8 hours per week, at Edgebrook Care Center in Edgerton, Minnesota.

Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of caring for people with special needs.
Ability and desire to be creative.
Ability to adapt programs and supplies to meet individual resident needs.

Willingness to drive the facility bus for outings.

Responsibilities

Assess residents’ needs and develop plans for programming that meets identified needs.
Lead or assist with conducting programming and evaluate its effectiveness.
Assure community involvement with the center or campus and work with volunteers.
Keep the activity area free of hazards.
Keep potentially harmful substances in locked storage and discard them properly.
Follow appropriate safety measures on outings and ensure residents are supervised at all times during planned groups and outings.
Report signs or symptoms of resident infections to appropriate staff.
Store food items properly, labeling and dating all items and containers.
Clean and sanitize supplies and equipment according to the set schedule.
Follow proper guidelines and policies regarding pets and animals.
Plan, organize, and execute activities for tenants.
Drive the facility bus for outings, if willing.
