About The Position

The Activities Assistant plans and implements recreational and therapeutic activities for residents, helping create a positive and lively atmosphere. The role supports residents’ engagement, social interaction, and community through group programs and one-on-one assistance. The position is based at 85 Stage Harbor Road, Marlborough, Connecticut, 06447.

Requirements

Have a compassionate and empathetic nature.
Have an interest in the therapeutic needs of older adults and chronically ill individuals, with the ability to work with both.
Be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
Be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a long-term care or senior living setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of activities for residents.
Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other recreational programs.
Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activities calendar.
Provide one-on-one support for residents who may need additional assistance.
Foster a sense of community and social interaction among residents.
Document and maintain records of residents’ participation in activities.
