About The Position

The Activities Assistant at CarDon and Associates helps enhance residents’ quality of life by organizing and facilitating engaging, meaningful activities. The role promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being through programs tailored to residents’ interests and abilities. The Activities Assistant works with residents to ensure activities are inclusive and accessible, and collaborates with care staff and family members to create a supportive, enjoyable environment. This position contributes to residents’ happiness and satisfaction within the community.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

• Certification or training in activity coordination, recreational therapy, or a related field.
• First Aid qualification.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to care environments.
• Experience working with individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver recreational and therapeutic activities suited to residents’ interests and needs.
• Encourage resident participation and foster an atmosphere that promotes social engagement and personal development.
• Help organize special events, outings, and celebrations.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and resident feedback to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with care staff to align activities with individual care plans and support residents’ physical and emotional well-being.
