About The Position

Kendall Hunt Publishing is seeking a driven Acquisitions Sales Representative to join their team. This remote position requires approximately 7 weeks of overnight travel per semester and is ideal for candidates located in Oklahoma (Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman or Edmond) or Texas (Plano or Garland). The role involves interviewing, identifying business potential, and persuading potential authors to partner with the company. The Acquisitions Sales Representative will travel to colleges and universities within their territory to find business opportunities, interview professors, and recruit author candidates. The goal is to partner with talented educators in lower-level, higher-enrollment courses to develop interactive and engaging educational materials that meet student needs and make a significant impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Interview professors and potential author candidates.
  • Identify business opportunities within assigned territories.
  • Persuade prospective authors to partner with Kendall Hunt Publishing.
  • Travel to colleges and universities to meet with potential authors.
  • Develop interactive and engaging educational materials in collaboration with authors.
  • Solve the needs of students through developed educational materials.
  • Uncover new sales channels for current product lines.
  • Find new products to sell to current customers.
  • Manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
