About The Position

The ACE Assistant Store Manager assists the ACE Store Director in maintaining genuine customer care and overseeing store operations to support sales and profitability. The role contributes to merchandising, inventory, expense control, operating-cost management, and shrink reduction. The Assistant Store Manager also helps train and develop the store team, supervises associates, and represents Niemann Foods within the store and community. Position requirements may vary by store location, and management may add to or change requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Product knowledge of hardware-related products.
1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of customers or associates.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, distribution, penetration, gross profit, and sales per associate hour.
Ability to perform the physical demands listed, including lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Some locations may require Power Industrial Truck Certification.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of retail computer systems.

Responsibilities

Drive store sales by ensuring customers are acknowledged, their project needs are met, and concerns are resolved quickly.
Control shrink, expenses, and labor.
Maintain appropriate merchandise stock levels, adjacencies, presentations, signing, and assortment across departments, and ensure the selling floor is adequately stocked.
Assist in evaluating and responding to performance issues.
Assist the Store Director with training and developing the store team.
Process information and merchandise through computer and POS register systems.
Assist with stocking supply deliveries and back stock, including building and filling displays.
Operate and use equipment necessary to run the store.
Work varied hours and days to oversee store operations.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures, and follow ACE programs and promotions.
Represent Niemann Foods within the store and community.
Enforce safety policies and procedures and serve as a safety role model.
Provide direction, coordination, and evaluation for the store and associates; plan, assign, and direct work; train and develop associates; reward and discipline associates; and address complaints and resolve problems.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
