Do you have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for numbers? Fairway Corporation is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team on a contract basis. In this role, you will support the accounting department by processing invoices, reconciling vendor accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payment processing. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist, AP Clerk, or Accounting Assistant who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining organized financial records, and supporting a collaborative finance team.

Requirements

Prior experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist, AP Clerk, or Accounting Assistant preferred
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (ERP system experience is a plus)
Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams
High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred)

Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices and manage accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently
Review and reconcile invoices, resolving discrepancies with vendors and internal departments
Prepare, print, and issue vendor payments while maintaining accurate AP documentation
Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payment status and account details
Manage incoming paper mail related to accounts payable and distribute appropriately
Print and mail vendor checks and maintain organized payment records
Assist the accounting team with general accounts payable support and administrative tasks
