About The Position

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for data entry of daily accounting activity of SONC’s headquarters office and field areas. This is an in-office position and candidates should live within a commutable distance to the Pleasant Hill office.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college-level accounting courses or minimum of 2 years accounting experience or combination of both education and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Beginner to intermediate experience with web-based accounting platforms & expense management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet assigned deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT.
  • Experience with Concur Expense and Concur Invoice.

Responsibilities

  • Process invoices through Accounts Payable (AP) and issue payments to vendors and employees.
  • Assist with processing office cash receipts and prepare bank deposits.
  • Perform accounting data entry as assigned.
  • Reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts as assigned.
  • Reconcile bank accounts as assigned.
  • Keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments to the organization.
  • Provide accounting support/training to designated field programs.
  • Monitor field compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation.
  • Identify and provide solutions for accounting irregularities.
  • File documents for efficient retrieval.
  • Other duties as assigned.
