With a focus on client requirements, we offer BIM capabilities, design-build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC systems, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations. University Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for our San Diego CA location.

Requirements

Must possess strong computer skills, including intermediate MS Excel.
Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Must be able to prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
Must have demonstrated ability to perform basic business mathematical functions.
Be able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate high levels of self-initiation and direction.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs.
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, vendors, and suppliers.

Nice To Haves

Vista by Viewpoint Construction Software, pVault by Paperless Environment and/Construction experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Processing of job-related invoices, including Subcontractors and material purchases.
Processing of employee expense reports in accordance with company guidelines.
Preparation of weekly check runs, including payments to Subcontractors.
Reconciliation of vendor statements, including corresponding with vendors and responding to inquiries concerning payment or invoice issues.
Assisting Project Managers in the reconciliation of purchase orders and Subcontracts.
Special projects as needed.
Thorough understanding of sales and used tax. Including the ability to distinguish being purchases that are taxable, non-taxable, and/or qualify for tax exemptions.
