About The Position

The Accounts Payable Manager oversees American Leather’s end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring vendor invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time while maintaining strong internal controls and accounting integrity. The role leads the AP team, manages daily operations, standardizes processes, implements scalable solutions, and drives continuous improvement. It combines hands-on problem-solving with strategic process design and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice intake, coding, approvals, and timely payments.
• Oversee processing and routing of purchase-order and non-purchase-order invoices in accordance with company policy.
• Ensure three-way matching of purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoices before payment.
• Resolve discrepancies involving purchase orders, receivers, and vendor invoices in partnership with Purchasing and Receiving.
• Coordinate and execute weekly and monthly payment runs via ACH, wire, and check.
• Maintain vendor master data, including payment terms, remittance information, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure accurate month-end accruals and timely closing of AP-related ledgers.
• Monitor AP aging reports and support cash forecasting.
• Oversee annual 1099 reporting and tax-related compliance.
• Support internal and external audits by providing AP documentation and schedules.
• Lead the AP team, standardize processes, implement scalable solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
