About The Position

As an Accounts Payable Clerk for the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to our team and keep our project moving by ensuring every invoice is accurate, accounted for, and paid on time. Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • 1 year of experience in an accounts payable role or equivalent technical experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to change.
  • Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to effectively handle difficult situations and remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to create, edit, proofread, and format documents/presentations.
  • Basic skills in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, and OneNote.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree, diploma or certificate in an accounting or administrative program considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, retrieves, and verifies vendor invoices received through a shared accounts payable inbox and vendor portal.
  • Accurately enters approved invoices into the accounting system in a timely manner.
  • Updates purchase orders with accurate cost codes.
  • Identifies and prioritizes approved, overdue invoices to maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Accurately distributes invoices to appropriate project efficiently.
  • Independently investigates and resolves invoice and payment discrepancies.
  • Prepares new vendor verification documentation.
  • Responds to inquiries from vendors and internal staff via email, phone, in-person or MS Teams.
  • Verifies vendor accounts reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Assists with year-end reporting.
  • Other duties as required.
