About The Position

Long Prairie Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is hiring an Accounts Payable Clerk at its plant in Long Prairie, Minnesota. The role supports purchasing and accounts payable operations by matching purchase orders with receiving records and invoices, reconciling differences, entering and coding invoices, and processing payments. The clerk also handles raw material purchases and payments, vendor setup coordination, account reconciliations, discrepancy resolution, reporting, month-end closing assistance, and audit documentation. Employees may perform other related duties to meet the organization’s ongoing needs.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
High school diploma or GED.
Two years of accounts payable experience.
Basic PC skills.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to perform job duties with minimal direction.
Good work and attendance record.

Nice To Haves

Prior accounts payable experience.
Prior experience with MAS or other accounts payable packages.

Responsibilities

Assist the purchasing department by matching purchase orders to receiving records and invoices and reconciling differences.
Correct and code general ledger account numbers on invoices and identify due dates.
Enter invoices into the accounts payable system and generate check, wire, and intercompany payments.
Process raw material purchases and payments.
Work with the corporate office to set up new vendors.
Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
Generate reports as needed.
Assist with month-end closing.
Provide supporting documentation for audits.
