About The Position

Mortenson is looking for an Accounts Payable Associate to provide support to internal and external customers by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, including performing various assignments to maintain efficient and effective invoice management.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED required
  • Prior Accounts Payable experience required
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance a plus
  • Construction accounting experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Review and process incoming invoices with accuracy and completeness according to company policies, internal controls and tax regulations. This includes validating pricing, quantities and PO matching.
  • Ensure proper coding, approvals and processing timeliness of invoices.
  • Assist with processing mass uploads of invoices using Oracle’s data load functionality.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice issues, including discrepancies with purchase orders or receiving documents.
  • Research and resolve all past due balances and open credit memos.
  • Maintain supplier records ensuring the accuracy of critical data fields for payment compliance and annual 1099 reporting.
  • Initiating and authorizing payments to vendors in accordance with company policies.
  • Complete the void and returned check analysis.
  • Supplier negative balance review.
  • Invoice and supplier hold review.
  • Assist with systems testing and special projects as needed.
  • Participate in department projects and company initiatives as required.
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
