About The Position

Responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations. This role is located at our Empire Homes Office in Atlanta, GA.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary in accounting or similar field of study
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience within a corporate environment
  • Enrollment in an accounting designation program is required
  • Knowledge of the general ledger process and general accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Review, code, and enter invoices with proper documentation and approvals; prioritize invoices by payment terms and process check requests.
  • Match invoices to checks, obtain required signatures, distribute payments, and manage vendor statements by researching and resolving discrepancies.
  • Sort and distribute accounts payable–related mail and respond promptly to vendor inquiries.
  • Maintain vendor records including W‑9s, 1099 documentation, and insurance certificates (Workers’ Comp, General Liability, Auto).
  • Reconcile and manage company credit cards and utility invoices, ensuring accurate coding, timely payments, and audit-ready records.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, run required reports, and support audit requests.
  • Maintain accurate files and documentation in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Collaborate in-office with team members and assist with additional projects and duties as needed.
