About The Position

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented accounting professional to join our Region Two office. In this role, you'll play a key part in managing, preparing, and processing essential financial documents and transactions that keep our regional operations running smoothly.

Requirements

• Accounts receivable, accounts payable, and/or accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Current or previous experience working for a State of Utah Agency, especially UDOT.

Responsibilities

• Research/prepare/enter/process vendor accounts payable, damage claim accounts receivable, purchasing card logs, vehicle trip logs, internal department charges, and employee reimbursements.
• Review/Reconcile vendor/customer invoices, statements, and documentation checking for accuracy, authorizations, exceptions, discounts, taxes, policy/contract adherence, etc.
• Review payroll time entries, correct errors, enter/approve manual adjustments, and review payroll reports for accuracy.
• Review documents for accuracy and reconcile discrepancies, make needed adjustments.
• Enter data into a computer system and retrieve, correct, or delete previously entered data.
• Receive, research and respond to incoming questions or complaints; provide information, explain policy and procedures, and/or facilitate a resolution.
• Write or draft correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.
• Provide administrative support.
• Review data, records and files for detailed accuracy.
