About The Position

This position is responsible for accurately processing payments for dairy product purchases. The role requires close coordination with internal units, the Purchasing Section, and vendors to verify quantities, pricing, and documentation. Extensive manual and computer-based research is often needed to ensure correct payment amounts.

Requirements

Associate degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in accounting work; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Substantive knowledge of and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling, proofreading, and office terminology to compose and/or proofread oral and written correspondence, reports and materials.
Substantive knowledge of accounting procedures, applicable mathematics and their application in the work environment, including experience recording, compiling, summarizing and analyzing data.
Considerable experience exercising judgment, discretion and negotiation skills in problem situations.
Experience learning, interpreting and explaining policies, regulations and programs.
Experience independently responding to inquiries and coordinating a variety of resources in acquiring and disseminating information.

Responsibilities

Process payment requests for dairy product purchases and ensure accuracy in all transactions.
Coordinate with internal units to confirm quantities and amounts received.
Work with the Department’s Purchasing Section to validate purchase order details.
Contact vendors to resolve discrepancies or incorrect invoices.
Conduct detailed manual and electronic research to determine accurate payment amounts.
