The work the Accounting Specialist will be responsible for involves critical and technical thinking and problem solving based on detailed knowledge of all pertinent facts and thorough analysis of relevant details. The position allows for creative thinking of new ideas, systems, or plans, and an innovative problem-solving approach. The individual in this position must maintain a professional demeanor and make sound, well thought-out decisions. Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in accounting and operational software: Business Central, SalesForce, AP Automation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Results oriented focus with the ability to get things done and the ability to quickly adapt in a changing environment
  • 1 year or more of related experience, required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process. Both team members should be fully capable of closing AP independently.
  • Independently perform all accounts payable duties and responsibilities. While collaboration with the Controller and Assistant Controller is encouraged for more complex issues, the goal is to resolve day-to-day tasks and vendor inquiries directly and confidently.
  • Take full ownership of weekly check runs, alternating responsibility week-to-week. Each individual is accountable for ensuring accuracy and timeliness during their assigned week.
  • Responds to inquiries from the CFO, Controller, and other company-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
  • Partner with the Controller and Assistant Controller to contribute to a clean and timely year-end audit. This includes proactive involvement in gathering and preparing audit documentation.
  • Respond directly to vendor inquiries, resolving account questions independently whenever possible. Use internal resources only when truly necessary, after reasonable effort to resolve the issue.
  • Participate in audit preparation by taking the initiative to understand and assist with audit documentation, even if it is your first time being involved.
  • Review and prepare yearly 1099s, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
  • Develop readiness to support special projects by demonstrating reliability, accuracy, and proactive communication in core responsibilities.
