About The Position

Process, analyze and pay vendor invoices for product and services. Perform multiple weekly and period accounting entries and account reconciliations, completing period closing responsibilities timely and accurately. This role requires 4 days in office for up to 6 months to learn the role and then will be able to shift to 3 days a week in office and 2 days remote. This role is located in St Louis, Missouri.

Requirements

  • High school education
  • 1 to 3 years in accounting
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • PeopleSoft Accounts Payable and General Ledger module
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Access
  • Basic accounting knowledge around merchandising accounts payable and inventory
  • Relationship building with vendors and Schnucks teammates.
  • Ability to learn and understand systems utilized in work area.
  • Sound organizational skills and the ability to multi-task to manage the day to day responsibilities of vendor and store questions.
  • Good communication skills to work with vendors, Procurement teammates, Warehouse teammates and occasionally others.

Nice To Haves

  • Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
  • Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
  • If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Review electronic invoices for payment accuracy.
  • Manually enter non electronic vendor invoices.
  • Communicate with vendors and appropriate Schnucks personnel to resolve payment discrepancy amounts.
  • Ensure accurate cut off of vendor entry to financial period close.
  • Complete weekly and/or period accounting entries.
