About The Position
The Accounting & Payroll Specialist supports the VP of Finance by owning core transactional finance and payroll functions across our 11-location, 4-state portfolio (NE, IA, CO, WY).
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in payroll processing and accounts payable
- multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 1 management entity. Train new bakery managers on payroll systems (ADP Run) for their location. Support new and existing bakery managers across all 11 locations with payroll questions. Process garnishments across all entities.
- Support benefits administration (Blue Cross, dental, vision, 401(k), including the processing enrollments and terminations. Assisting with open enrollment and annual reporting.
- Respond to and manage unemployment (UI) claims.
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including NBC royalty remittance.
- Track daily cash position across all 11 locations, preparing 2-day and 3-day cash projections. Cash-flow decisions and strategy remain with the VP of Finance.
- Manage vendor administration, including W-9 collection, 1099 preparation, and Certificate of Insurance (COI) tracking.
- Research and coordinate with ADP any issues with multi-state tax filings (NE, IA, CO, WY).
- Provide as-needed HR-lite support: record keeping and guidance/direction to bakery managers, under the VP of Finance's direction.
- Assist with weekly manager training calls as needed.
