About The Position

As a Senior level Accounting Officer, you will analyze financial information and prepare financial reconciliations and reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, or other financial activities within ICCU. This role involves preparing and examining accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. You will also be responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of general ledger and internal accounts, researching outstanding transaction exceptions, and finalizing transaction postings. The position requires tracking expenditures by categories and business line budgets, approving journal entries from junior accountants, and preparing and posting journal entries to the proper accounts. Additionally, you will develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. This role also manages the Credit Union’s daily cash position, including borrowing funds if necessary, and reports the daily liquidity and borrowing position to the CFO and Controller. You will report to management regarding the finances of Idaho Central Credit Union, establish tables of accounts, and develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems using current computer technology. Managing insurance for the Credit Union, assisting with Monthly IT reports and statement reviews, and managing deposit reclassification processes are also key responsibilities. You will manage corporate banking accounts and investments, prepare financial statements and other reports, and assist the Controller during the monthly close process. Representing Accounting on new IT projects to ensure accounting needs and new processes are analyzed and implemented, maintaining the Chart of Accounts, and completing the Weekly Federal Reserve FR2900 report are also part of the role. Finally, you will mentor and assist junior-level accountants and close the books, posting financial statements to Reports Central and Diligent, and complete various audits and other assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Ability to work under pressure and organize tasks for optimal performance.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship building skills.
  • Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by ICCU.
