About The Position

As Accounting Manager, you’ll be responsible for the accuracy of Avicado’s financial records and the insight behind them. You’ll own the month-end close, budget, and project accounting, while managing cash flow through accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. You’ll help keep the company audit-ready for government-funded work. Reporting directly to the Controller, you’ll maintain steady day-to-day accounting operations and provide hands-on support for process and system changes. The role includes supporting the Controller on special projects and analyses; documenting accounting processes, the chart of accounts, project and cost structures, and key decisions; identifying risks and proposing solutions; and owning project cost and revenue allocation and margin reporting. You’ll lead budget preparation and variance explanations, prepare for and respond to government audits, maintain indirect rate calculations and related submissions, and lead the month-end close and review reconciliations. You’ll also oversee invoicing, collections, payments, vendor and credit-card processes, run payroll, and prepare and review financial statements and budgets for compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. The position calls for regular, practical use of AI tools such as Claude, with appropriate verification of outputs.
