About The Position

The Accounting Manager develops controls necessary for the proper conduct of the dealership’s business, maintains accurate records, and establishes and maintains data processing capabilities to accomplish dealership objectives. The role leads dealership accounting operations, including financial reporting, cash management, payroll policies, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and month-end close activities. The position also supports annual reviews and audits and works with office staff to ensure assigned tasks are completed on time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in a dealership office position.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Working knowledge of dealership financial statements.
• Ability to explain technical financial information in an understandable manner.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Working knowledge of most accounting office positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with established timelines.
• Interpret and analyze financial statements.
• Maintain an effective cash management system.
• Approve adjustments to inventory, cost of sales, and expense accounts.
• Administer payroll policies.
• Prepare reconciliations for all accounts and physical inventories.
• Automate systems where possible and establish controls.
• Maintain and post monthly standard entries.
• Work with office staff to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Reconcile all accounts prior to month end.
• Assist in completing annual reviews and audits.
• Complete assigned end-of-month accounting reports.
• Prepare a daily cash report.
• Set up and maintain expense accruals.
• Run and review monthly expense trend reports.
