About The Position

FinanceWithin is a full-service finance and accounting firm serving startups and high-growth companies. It embeds experienced finance and accounting professionals into client operations and provides services including advisory, financial planning and analysis, accounting and bookkeeping, and support with exit strategies, M&A, working capital, financing, insurance reviews, governance and compliance, and financial infrastructure and software implementation. The Accounting Manager, Consumer Goods manages month-end close processes and works as a consultant with FinanceWithin clients. The role helps assemble monthly financial packets and present financial statements to clients. It requires strong experience with QBO and Xero; advanced Excel skills and strong business acumen are ideal.

Requirements

At least 6 years of experience in full-cycle accounting.
At least 2 years of experience in a multi-client or consulting role.
Advanced proficiency in QBO and Xero.
A firm grasp of accounting principles.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
A proactive, team-centric attitude.

Nice To Haves

E-commerce experience, including experience with Shopify, PayPal, Bill.com, or similar tools.
Advanced Excel skills.
Strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

Oversee month-end closing and key accounting activities for clients, including accurate and timely financial management reports, monthly financial statements, annual audits, and annual budgets.
Prepare and update cash flow projections and communicate clients’ cash positions.
Create financial packages, ensuring proper margin recognition and reconciling or recording sales, deferrals, accruals, returns, discounts, write-offs, and other transactions; monitor wholesale sales orders.
Manage inventory accounting, including reconciling physical inventory and subsidiary records to the general ledger, handling accruals, samples, adjustments, and obsolescence, and monitoring purchase orders.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
Reconcile payment accounts such as PayPal and Stripe.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain an understanding of amortization schedules.
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Manage client accounts receivable aging reports.
Manage client accounts payable in Bill.com or related software.
Manage payroll for clients.
Work with FinanceWithin management to support the team.
Consult with clients on accounting-related work.
Maintain general ledger accountability and perform financial analysis, financial reporting, profitability analysis, special reporting, and other assigned projects.
