About The Position

Compass Group is recruiting a Financial & Technical Accounting Intern for its corporate offices in Charlotte, North Carolina. The internship runs from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027, and is a paid position scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role provides hands-on corporate accounting experience with a collaborative team and exposure to Compass Group’s North American headquarters. The internship is not eligible for paid time off or medical, dental, vision, or other benefits. Employment-based visa and permanent residency sponsorship are not available for this position.

Requirements

• Be a rising junior or above majoring in Accounting.
• Be able to work independently and possess strong problem-solving skills.
• Be detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills.
• Have proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly accounting close process, including accounting entries and reconciliations for acquisition-related accounts.
• Assist with purchase accounting for acquired and divested entities.
• Calculate the fair value of acquired intangible assets.
• Collect, document, and track prepared-by-client (PBC) records for the annual IFRS audit.
• Research accounting standards to answer technical accounting queries.
• Maintain the Technical Accounting Database.
• Participate in planning and coordinating CPE courses.
