The University of North Texas Asset Management department plays a critical role in supporting the university’s operational efficiency and compliance. Our team is responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of State of Texas defined assets, including both controlled and capital assets, ensuring accountability and stewardship of university resources. Our services begin with the receipt of goods, both asset and non-asset items, and include accurate verification and distribution to designated campus locations. We maintain rigorous inventory control processes, conduct annual physical inventory audits, and ensure compliance with state and university policies. Asset Management also oversees the end-of-life process for university property, coordinating the proper disposition of surplus items in accordance with regulatory requirements. Through these efforts, we help maximize resource utilization and support sustainability initiatives. The department reports directly to the UNT Budget Office and works collaboratively with departments across campus to provide guidance, transparency, and support in asset-related matters. This position is responsible for monitoring capital and controlled assets of the organization. It is their duty to monitor and report status of these assets from purchasing through disposal/sale/transfer. Will work collaboratively with UNT Controller Office, Asset Management, and University Budget Office.
