About The Position

CLA is hiring Accounting Consultants (Engagement Directors) for its Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS). CAAS provides customized accounting support to clients, typically those with more than $50 million in revenue, on an interim and project basis. The role serves as a high-level, hands-on accounting resource for clients across industries and offers flexibility to select engagements, with opportunities to travel. Engagement work may include accounting, finance, tax, and audit functions such as Interim Controller, Financial Reporting Manager, and Internal Audit Manager. The position is hourly and includes access to a full benefits package.

Requirements

At least 8 years of relevant work experience, including public accounting.
Bachelor’s degree required; a combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Mastery of Microsoft Excel.
Experience with a variety of accounting software.

Nice To Haves

10 or more years of relevant work experience preferred.
Prior industry experience as a CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting Manager, or Internal Audit Manager equivalent preferred.
Big Four experience welcomed.
Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred.
CPA certification preferred but not required.
Prior project management experience preferred.
Exceptional client service management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as a high-level interim or project-based accounting resource for clients in various industries in accounting, finance, tax, and audit roles.
Design and improve accounting processes, including monthly close, management and financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations, and system implementations.
Take an active, hands-on approach to executing client engagements.
Travel for client opportunities as applicable.
Select engagements.
