About The Position

CLA is hiring Accounting Consultants (Engagement Directors) for its Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) team. CAAS provides customized accounting support to clients, typically larger than $50 million, on an interim and project basis. Engagement Directors serve as high-level interim or project-based accounting resources for clients across various industries, taking on accounting, finance, tax, and audit roles such as Interim Controller, Financial Reporting Manager, or Internal Audit Manager. They take an active, hands-on role in client engagements and may have opportunities to travel. Engagements can be selected to support flexibility and work-life balance. The position is hourly and includes access to a full benefits package.

Requirements

At least 8 years of relevant work experience, including public accounting; 10 or more years is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required, although a combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Mastery of Microsoft Excel.
Experience with a variety of accounting software.

Nice To Haves

Prior industry experience equivalent to CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting Manager, or Internal Audit Manager.
Big Four experience.
Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
CPA certification.
Prior project management experience.
Exceptional client service management experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as an interim or project-based accounting resource for clients across various industries in accounting, finance, tax, and audit roles.
Design and improve accounting processes, including monthly close, management and financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations, and system implementations.
Take an active, hands-on approach to executing client engagements.
Travel for client engagements as applicable.
Select engagements to support flexibility and work-life balance.
