About The Position

CLA is seeking Accounting Consultants (Engagement Directors) for its Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS). CAAS provides customized accounting support to clients, typically larger than $50 million, on an interim and project basis. Engagement Directors serve as high-level interim or project-based accounting resources for clients across various industries, supporting accounting, finance, tax, and audit roles. The work offers flexibility and variety, with opportunities to select engagements and travel based on availability and interest. Engagement Directors are hourly employees and have access to a full benefits package.

Requirements

At least 8 years of relevant work experience, including public accounting; 10 or more years is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required, though a combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Mastery of Microsoft Excel.
Experience with a variety of accounting software.

Nice To Haves

Prior industry experience as a CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting Manager, or Internal Audit Manager, or equivalent.
Big Four experience.
Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
CPA certification.
Prior project management experience.
Exceptional client service management experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as an interim or project-based accounting resource for clients across various industries, supporting roles in accounting, finance, tax, and audit.
Design and improve accounting processes, including monthly close, management and financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations, and system implementations.
Take an active, hands-on approach to executing client engagements.
Travel for client engagements as opportunities arise.
