Accounting Consultant – Engagement Director

About The Position

CLA is hiring Accounting Consultants (Engagement Directors) for its Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) team. CAAS provides customized accounting support to clients, typically those with more than $50 million in revenue, on an interim and project basis. The role offers flexibility and variety, with engagements across industries and opportunities to choose engagements. It is an hourly employee position with access to a full benefits package. Travel opportunities are available, with more opportunities for candidates who are open to travel.

Requirements

At least 8 years of relevant work experience, including public accounting experience.
Bachelor’s degree required, although a combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Mastery of Microsoft Excel.
Experience with a variety of accounting software.

Nice To Haves

10 or more years of relevant work experience preferred.
Prior industry experience equivalent to CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting Manager, or Internal Audit Manager preferred.
Big Four experience welcomed.
Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred.
CPA certification preferred but not required.
Prior project management experience preferred.
Exceptional client service management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as a high-level interim or project-based accounting resource for clients in various industries, including in roles related to accounting, finance, tax, and audit, such as Interim Controller, Financial Reporting Manager, and Internal Audit Manager.
Design and improve accounting processes, including monthly close, management and financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations, and system implementations.
Take an active, hands-on approach to executing client engagements.
