The Accounting Clerk, under the direction of the Director of Finance, is responsible for recording journal entries, maintaining asset and liability schedules, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and processing tax filings. This role also assists and supports timely and accurate month-end close, quarterly summary, and year-end reporting requirements. The Accounting Clerk prepares financial reports and analysis as requested by the Director of Finance and provides recommendations for improved processes and internal financial controls. The role is responsible for exemplifying excellent service and the Company core values, culture, policy, and procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience performing related accounting processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365/Google products, and ERP systems
  • Must be able to read and speak clearly in English
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Reasonable knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to communicate professionally both written and verbal
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Fluency in the English language (speak, read, and write) required

Responsibilities

  • Recording journal entries

  • Preparing financial reports and analysis as requested by the Director of Finance

  • Deep learning about LoanPro's software, its functions, and how it fulfills customer needs
  • Administering and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Performing daily bookkeeping and journal entries
  • Managing collections and professional follow-up with customers
  • Maintaining the general ledger
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of financial, employee, and other sensitive company information
  • Assisting with closing the books and management of AR/AP
  • Evaluating workflow processes and procedures to develop, recommend, and implement procedural and system changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies
  • Helping the Director of Accounting, Director of Finance, and CFO with the annual audit
  • Providing schedules and commentary with respect to operating maintenance accounts results and variances
  • Producing working capital and cash-flow reports, as well as applicable commentary
  • Preparing special financial reports as requested by management
  • Creating and analyzing liability, asset, and capital accounts
  • Summarizing and preparing financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement
  • Complying with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpreting new and existing legislation
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts and maintaining schedules detailing month-end balances at quarter-end and year-end
  • Adhering to accounting and finance “best practices” and all LoanPro policies and procedures
  • Preparing monthly accruals
  • Meeting internal and external deadlines for all responsibilities
  • Performing timely monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Monitoring credit card accounts to ensure expenses are for business purposes and receipts are uploaded/posted
  • Maintaining the fixed asset ledger and responsible for monthly depreciation entries
  • Reviewing expenses monthly to ensure accurate recording and that no fixed assets were accidentally expensed
  • Assisting with annual audits providing schedules/roll forwards as required
  • Inputting accounts payable and ensuring payments are on-time
  • Assisting with preparation of company payroll for international and domestic employees
  • Administering the reconciliation of employee monthly benefit bills to employee headcount
  • Assisting in maintaining the company master Census
  • Giving, receiving, and implementing feedback and constructive criticism
