About The Position

We are a leading provider of mobile data technology products and services for public safety agencies, including Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement. The company creates customizable hardware and software solutions that help first responders operate more safely and effectively, ultimately helping to save lives. The company is a small privately owned company located in San Diego. We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Accountant to join our small but growing manufacturing and technology company in San Deigo. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the full cycle of accounting as well as finance and administration tasks at the company. This role is hands on and is critical to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the financial health of the organization.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper.
  • Expert-level knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise software.
  • Experience preparing financial statements.
  • Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting software.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business Administration or equivalent work experience.
  • HR and Benefits experience a plus
  • Experience with inventory management in manufacturing or related industry.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise Manufacturing accounting software
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Payroll and/or ADP RUN strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Full Charge Bookkeeping as well as managing all company ledgers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing clients, entering vendor expenses, and processing payment.
  • Supervisor and oversee payroll, including managing the payroll system and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Reconcile accounts, complete month-end close adjustments and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare financial reports, forecasts and various operating reports.
  • Manage inventory and must have experience with cost accounting concepts.
  • Collaborate with external accountants during audits and tax preparation.
  • Managing purchase orders, inventory, cost accounting, and office management duties.
