The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Prior Accounting experiences
  • Ability to perform with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong analytical and/or problem solving skills
  • Develop relationships and work effectively with others in different locations
  • US citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CPA candidate with prior accounting or audit experience, strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Feel comfortable working in complex accounting systems
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Learn in a collaborative team environment
  • Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting experiences

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal customers to solve Accounts Payable related problems and find technical and reporting solutions.
  • Be responsible for the preparation of a variety of journal entries to ensure proper accounting at month-end and throughout the month.
  • Support all audit activities (Corporate, Internal and External) and will be tasked with reviewing/implementing controls that will meet all the CAS, FAR, GAAP and corporate policies.
  • Continuously improve processes, enhance system/process controls, and provide valuable analysis and support to the Finance and Business Operations departments.
  • Provide support as needed to other accounting department functions (e.g. financial reporting, accounts payable, systems) based on changing demands and workloads.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, management, and employees throughout all levels of the organization.
