East Peoria Undercarriage has an exciting opportunity available as an Accountant where you can directly contribute to Caterpillar’s mission of solving our customers' toughest challenges while fulfilling our purpose to build a better, more sustainable world. This role is part of the East Peoria Undercarriage Operations team within the Integrated Components Division (ICD) of Caterpillar and works with a cross-functional team of accountants, engineers, supply chain, etc. In an operations role at Caterpillar, you work with the final commercial products being made and can directly see the impact of your contributions. In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop tools in a fast-paced and innovative global organization. This role will encourage you to demonstrate and develop your leadership skills, utilizing excellent communication and financial data analytics skills.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Responsibilities

Deliver data‑driven decision support for sourcing initiatives through comprehensive product cost analysis and financial evaluation.
Provide finance and business partnership support for manufacturing transformation activities, including the setup and transition of product cost rates.
Manage capital and expense tracking for board level capital program, providing ongoing visibility to spending, forecasts, and financial impacts to support leadership decision‑making.
Support place‑in‑service activities and fixed‑asset list coordination working closely with Operations, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure timely and compliant capitalization.
Coordinate SOX internal controls with a strong focus on inventory transactions and fixed assets, including control execution, documentation, testing support, and issue resolution in partnership with Operations team.
Collaborate with Operations as the business analyst, to understand their business and provide financial insights, and guidance on accounting issues.
