Exciting Opportunity at MSK – Accountant At Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), our accountants play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance, supporting the organization’s mission to deliver world-class cancer care. In this role, you’ll contribute to maintaining strong financial operations through analysis, reporting, and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of general ledger fundamentals and posting rules.
  • Ability to prepare accurate financial reports and analyses.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with financial systems, data entry, and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with auditors and team members.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and contribute to multiple projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of healthcare or nonprofit accounting standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, record, and summarize financial transactions in compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.
  • Perform daily data entry and coding responsibilities to maintain financial records.
  • Complete non-complex monthly account analyses and reconciliations.
  • Prepare audit-ready financial information for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory compliance reporting requirements for healthcare and nonprofit operations.
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial reporting and special projects.
  • Partner with colleagues across finance teams to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and practices.
