About The Position

You'll join a mission-driven team dedicated to empowering human dignity. Though our Catholic faith guides our work, you do not have to be Catholic to join our team or receive services. As Accountant, you will be a key contributor to the Finance team at the St. Teresa of Calcutta Campus, supporting the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. Reporting directly to CFO, you will help ensure that our resources are stewarded well — so that more people in our community can be served.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (or actively working toward completion).
  • 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software such as Financial Edge, Raiser's Edge, or ADP Payroll is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical accounting standards, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting the mission of Catholic Charities.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of accounting software such as Financial Edge, Raiser's Edge, or ADP Payroll is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries related to month-end close processes.
  • Reconcile various General Ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Review departmental financial results against budgets; analyze and explain key variances.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual workpapers for external financial audits.
  • Uphold rigorous accounting standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  • Process invoices, run weekly payment cycles, maintain vendor relations, and produce year-end 1099s.
  • Support the Controller and CFO with receivables management and related transactions.
  • Contribute to the broader Finance team by performing additional duties as assigned by management.
