About The Position

ONEOK is seeking an Accountant II to join the Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) Operational Accounting team. Reporting to the NGL Operational Accounting Supervisor, this role is responsible for helping ensure the accuracy and completeness of operational accounting volumes and financial activity. Key responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of operational accounting processes through timely inventory reconciliations, analysis of asset activity, resolution of discrepancies, and validation of volumes and dollars. This position requires ownership of assigned processes, a strong understanding of NGL operations, and proactive collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will accurately record and analyze activity in RightAngle, work effectively across multiple systems, communicate clearly and professionally, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and development. The role also requires strong cross-functional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a focus on identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies. This is a hybrid position based in Tulsa, with in-office work Monday through Thursday and remote work on Fridays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or other related field with previous experience working in various accounting functions or equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related experience: Accounting
  • Experience with and knowledge of generally accepted accounting methods and procedures
  • Experience performing an intermediate level of accounting activities such as financial accounting, property accounting, account classification, or gas accounting
  • Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software
  • Experience and/or training related to: Financial accounting and reporting standards and processes
  • Experience researching, composing, reconciling, and preparing reports, invoices, studies, and correspondence applicable to position
  • Experience reading and interpreting company correspondence, reports, accounting-related publications, income statements, contracts, ledgers, manuals, computer printouts, and legal documents
  • Ability to: interact, advise and communicate effectively
  • Ability to: develop and present information to individuals and groups
  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange information; conduct oral presentations
  • Ability to: apply math, algebra, and statistical methods

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and/or training related to: Economic forecasting/modeling and corporate budget functions
  • Experience and/or training related to: Gas accounting activities and terminology

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and/or prepare journal entries, reports, budgets, and records related to financial accounting, gas accounting, or economic forecasting/budgeting
  • Perform calculations and/or analyses including but not limited to: Interest, Cash flow, Financial ratios, Pressure base/Btu conversions, Discounts, Variances, Depreciations (book/tax), Projections/forecasts
  • Assist in development and maintenance of applicable spreadsheet models and/or distributed applications such as those used in finance and other accounting activities
  • Compile, verify, and/or prepare financial information including but not limited to: Forecasted versus actual expenses, Governmental/regulatory reports, Invoices, Financial reports, Reconciliation reports, Quarterly income statements
  • Provide information and assistance to employees from governmental and/or regulatory agencies, auditing firms, management, and others concerning accounting processes and various financial reports
  • Maintain the integrity of operational accounting processes through timely inventory reconciliations, analysis of asset activity, resolution of discrepancies, and validation of volumes and dollars.
