About The Position

As an Accountant II, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. This position supports critical accounting functions, collaborates with cross-functional finance teams, and contributes to strategic reporting that drives informed business decisions. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you’ll leverage your expertise in financial analysis and accounting principles to maintain a complete and accurate general ledger while supporting compliance and operational excellence.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of professional accounting or finance experience
Strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Ability to meet tight deadlines and deliver accurate results under pressure
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration

Nice To Haves

CPA certification is a plus
utility industry experience preferred
Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems is desirable

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries and support the monthly close process
Analyze financial results and variances to ensure general ledger accuracy
Perform account analyses and reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly
Assist in preparing financial statements and annual state reporting
Participate in annual audits and coordinate with external auditors
Collaborate with teams such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Regulatory, Treasury, Tax, and other back-office functions
Provide insights on accounting and reporting matters, interpreting and analyzing financial results
Support special projects and partner with corporate teams to improve processes and enhance efficiency
Research and apply accounting treatments under GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory guidelines
Perform other responsibilities and support projects as requested
