About The Position
The main purpose of this position is to assist the fiscal department with financial accounting responsibilities, including performing asset management activities related to inventory. This position will assist with revising fiscal processes, credentialing, year-end closing and audits. This position will also support succession planning by learning the Fiscal Chief's duties. Therefore, the incumbent should possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and have an educational background in accounting.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing.
- One year of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles.
- One year of experience with current accounting practices related to data analytics.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards.
- Experience preparing journal entries.
- Experience analyzing monthly expenditures and fixed assets.
