About The Position

Westlake Financial is hiring an Account Representative for its credit card collections team. The role handles accounts more than three payments past due, contacting customers by phone and using skip-tracing techniques to locate customers and collateral. The Account Representative works toward monthly goals, negotiates payment arrangements to bring accounts current, and helps reduce delinquency in an assigned queue. The position involves high-volume calls in a fast-paced environment and requires knowledge of applicable collection laws and effective negotiation and telephone skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of backend subprime collections experience.
• Some experience in credit card collections or a related financial services role.
• Knowledge of skip tracing.
• Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws applicable to collections, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
• Good computer and typing skills.
• Team player.
• Good negotiation skills and excellent telephone etiquette.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Web navigation and/or web-based application skills.

Nice To Haves

• Auto collections experience preferred.
