Account Executive - Client Engagement

Wright Family Law Group
•$75,000 - $80,000•Remote

About The Position

Wright Family Law Group is hiring an Account Executive for Client Engagement to conduct paid consultations with prospective family law clients and help suitable clients decide whether to hire the firm. The role requires leading discovery into each person's situation, goals, urgency, concerns, and readiness; explaining the firm's process, services, and fees in plain English; recommending an appropriate retainer in line with firm pricing; addressing objections respectfully; and guiding new clients through engagement agreements and retainer payment. Retainers typically range from $5,000 to $15,000 or more. Legal questions are referred to an attorney, who can support the Account Executive. The Account Executive owns each consultation through a hiring decision, a decline, or closure, including setting and completing follow-ups. When not conducting consultations, the role also handles lead follow-up and intake calls. The Account Executive records consultations, outcomes, and next steps in Lawmatics the same day, reviews recorded consultations to improve performance, and hands retained clients to the legal team in Clio. The role also helps improve lead quality, consultation scripts, objection handling, and training with firm leadership. This is an empathy-centered sales position involving people who may be experiencing divorce, custody disputes, domestic violence, or other difficult circumstances. The firm expects a consultation-to-client close rate of at least 55%, with a minimum of 45% during the first 45 days of training and 50% every month thereafter. The first 90 days are an introductory period that includes training on case types, pricing, and process. The position is fully remote anywhere in the U.S., with Eastern Time business hours and some evenings. Compensation is a $75,000 to $80,000 base salary, paid weekly, plus monthly commission based on the consultation-to-client close rate. The firm estimates year-one earnings of approximately $100,000 to $105,000 at a 55% close rate and $135,000 to $140,000 at a 70% close rate. Health insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) with a 3% Safe Harbor contribution are available after the 90-day introductory period.

Requirements

  • A proven consultative sales record, including ownership of deals from discovery through close and a close rate the candidate can discuss.
  • High-empathy selling experience in consulting, professional services, admissions, financial services, healthcare, or legal settings; high-pressure, high-volume closing experience is not the target.
  • Comfort discussing a $5,000 to $15,000 commitment directly and respectfully.
  • Experience handling a steady flow of inbound leads and maintaining CRM discipline, including same-day notes and follow-ups; experience with Lawmatics, Clio, Salesforce, or similar is applicable.
  • Ability to learn family law basics, including case types and cost drivers, without giving legal advice.
  • Comfort using the phone and Zoom.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work Eastern Time business hours, plus some evenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Sales or intake experience at a law firm.
  • Experience selling alongside attorneys or other experts.
  • Familiarity with Lawmatics or Clio.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct paid consultations booked by intake and lead discovery into each prospective client's situation, goals, urgency, concerns, and readiness to move forward.
  • Explain the firm's process, services, and fees in plain English, and route legal questions to an attorney.
  • Recommend an appropriate retainer based on case complexity and firm pricing.
  • Address objections about cost, timing, trust, and competing firms with questions rather than pressure.
  • Ask prospective clients to engage the firm and guide new clients through the engagement agreement and retainer payment.
  • Own each consultation until the person hires the firm, declines, or is closed out, including setting follow-up steps and dates.
  • Follow up with leads and take intake calls when not conducting consultations.
  • Record each consultation, outcome, and next step in Lawmatics on the same day, and review recorded consultations to improve closing performance.
  • Hand retained clients to the legal team in Clio so information does not need to be requested twice.
  • Flag junk or out-of-scope leads to intake and marketing to help improve lead quality.
  • Help firm leadership refine consultation scripts, objection handling, and training.

Benefits

  • Health insurance, with the firm paying 100% of an individual plan and 50% of a family plan, after the 90-day introductory period.
  • Paid time off after the 90-day introductory period.
  • 401(k) with a 3% Safe Harbor contribution after the 90-day introductory period.
  • Monthly commission based on the consultation-to-client close rate.
