About The Position

The Account Collector Representative manages patient accounts and helps ensure timely reimbursement for services rendered. The role requires a strong background in medical billing and collections, a courteous and service-oriented approach, longevity in previous roles, and a high level of accuracy and efficiency. The position supports USPI’s revenue cycle operations and works collaboratively with billing and other departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of collections experience, including healthcare insurance collections.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize urgent matters.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) system.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely and effective follow-up on outstanding patient accounts.
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and third-party payers to resolve billing issues and inquiries.
• Review and analyze accounts receivable reports to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Use billing software and electronic medical record (EMR) systems to track payments and update patient records.
• Collaborate with the billing team and other departments to streamline processes and optimize revenue cycle performance.
