This position involves accounting work that requires the application of bookkeeping practices and principles. The Account Clerk III computes and maintains daily balances on all operating budget codes and accounts, processes and maintains records on requisitions, purchase orders, vouchers, and blanket orders. The role also involves preparing invoices, tracking payments, and following up on delinquent accounts. Additionally, the Account Clerk III prepares contracts and legal notices, and audits vouchers for payment on contract work. This role may serve as the final check on numerous financial transactions and supervises and participates in auditing and preparing accounts payable payments. The position may also involve serving as the department/division payroll clerk or as a back-up payroll clerk.
