About The Position

As an Accessibility Lead Vice President in the Digital Accessibility Team supporting Digital Agentic, you will provide strategic and technical accessibility leadership across the product lifecycle for emerging AI-enabled customer experiences. You will advise teams on how accessibility requirements apply to conversational experiences, dynamically rendered interfaces, reusable interaction patterns, and other agentic capabilities across customer-facing web and mobile channels. You will partner with Product, Design, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Research, Risk, Controls, Legal, and other stakeholders to translate accessibility standards and human-centered design principles into practical requirements, guidance, testing approaches, and product decisions. The role supports teams through discovery, design, development, testing, launch, and ongoing improvement, including defect management and release readiness. You will establish repeatable accessibility practices, documentation, testing approaches, and governance for agentic capabilities, and help teams address accessibility considerations before emerging patterns scale. The role requires deep accessibility expertise, strong product-development knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to lead through influence. You are not expected to build AI models or independently develop unapproved AI-enabled solutions. You are expected to understand how agentic and AI-enabled capabilities affect customer experiences and to lead the responsible integration of accessibility throughout their design, development, testing, and operation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience supporting accessibility in digital, customer-facing products, programs, or functions.
  • Expert knowledge of digital accessibility standards and specifications, including WCAG, WAI-ARIA, semantic web technologies, and accessibility requirements for native mobile applications.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying accessibility barriers and recommending practical solutions across complex web or mobile experiences.
  • Strong understanding of assistive technologies and how customers with disabilities navigate, understand, and operate digital experiences.
  • Experience advising Product, Design, Engineering, and Quality Assurance partners throughout the product-development lifecycle.
  • Ability to translate accessibility requirements into clear design guidance, technical recommendations, user stories, acceptance criteria, testing approaches, and product decisions.
  • Experience leading complex technical discussions, resolving ambiguity, and influencing outcomes across teams without direct authority.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility testing methodologies, defect documentation, severity assessment, prioritization, remediation, and release-readiness practices.
  • Experience evaluating dynamic content, live updates, focus management, status communication, error handling, and complex user interactions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate emerging experiences for which established patterns may not yet exist.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex accessibility and technical concepts to senior leaders and nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, adapt to evolving direction, and bring structure to a fast-moving area.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting conversational interfaces, chat-based experiences, intelligent assistants, generative AI, agentic systems, or dynamically composed interfaces.
  • Knowledge of responsible AI principles, including appropriate human oversight, transparency, output validation, data quality, information handling, and escalation of potential risks.
  • Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, schema-driven interfaces, and reusable web or mobile interaction patterns.
  • Working knowledge of web development, including semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA, or experience with native iOS or Android development.
  • Experience with usability or accessibility research involving people with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with automated and guided accessibility-testing tools.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery practices and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Accessibility-related certifications or comparable demonstrated expertise.
  • Experience working in a large corporate, regulated, or financial-services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead Digital Accessibility advisor for Digital Agentic initiatives across customer-facing web and mobile experiences.
  • Establish and communicate accessibility expectations for conversational experiences, agent-generated content, dynamically rendered interfaces, interactive controls, notifications, task flows, confirmations, and transitions between digital and human-assisted experiences.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Research, Risk, Controls, Legal, and other stakeholders to integrate accessibility throughout discovery, design, development, testing, launch, and ongoing product improvement.
  • Provide early accessibility guidance for concepts, prototypes, user journeys, interaction models, design specifications, reusable patterns, and technical approaches.
  • Translate accessibility standards and internal requirements into actionable design guidance, technical recommendations, test expectations, acceptance criteria, and product decisions.
  • Evaluate how accessibility requirements apply when an agent dynamically selects, sequences, populates, or renders content and interface components.
  • Lead technical discussions and facilitate decisions on complex or emerging accessibility questions where existing standards or patterns may not offer complete implementation guidance.
  • Develop and promote repeatable approaches for evaluating agentic experiences across assistive technologies, platforms, customer contexts, and interaction modes.
  • Partner with QA and accessibility-testing teams to define testing methodologies for deterministic and variable agentic experiences, including validation of content, controls, focus behavior, status communication, error handling, and task completion.
  • Support defect triage and prioritization by assessing customer impact, standards implications, severity, available workarounds, affected experiences, and release readiness.
  • Identify recurring accessibility risks and use defect, testing, research, and customer-feedback insights to recommend improvements to components, patterns, product requirements, and delivery practices.
  • Partner with the MDS accessibility lead and design-system teams to promote accessible reusable components and patterns, while clarifying responsibilities within the surrounding experience, data, content, orchestration, or implementation.
  • Help establish accessibility documentation, governance, decision records, and reusable guidance for Digital Agentic teams.
  • Incorporate research findings from people with disabilities into product guidance and recommend inclusive research opportunities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Coach accessibility advisors and cross-functional partners on emerging agentic accessibility considerations.
  • Communicate accessibility risks, recommendations, tradeoffs, and progress to technical teams, product leaders, and senior stakeholders.
  • Stay current on accessibility standards, assistive technologies, platform capabilities, AI-enabled experience patterns, responsible AI considerations, and relevant industry developments.
  • Support responsible use of approved AI-enabled tools while maintaining appropriate validation, transparency, data handling, controls, and human accountability.
  • Evaluate AI-enabled customer experiences for accessibility, usability, consistency, and alignment with product requirements.
  • Use approved AI-enabled tools to support research analysis, requirements development, documentation, defect analysis, pattern identification, executive communication, and decision support.
  • Review AI-assisted outputs for accuracy, completeness, relevance, accessibility implications, source consistency, and business context before relying on them.
  • Recognize and escalate risks involving inaccessible output, unsupported conclusions, unpredictable interface behavior, inappropriate data use, insufficient transparency, or overreliance on automation.
  • Help teams maintain meaningful human accountability for accessibility decisions, particularly when generated content or variable system behavior affects customers’ ability to understand information or complete a task.
  • Identify responsible opportunities to use AI, analytics, and automation to improve accessibility coverage, testing efficiency, documentation, defect analysis, and product insights.
  • Promote continuous learning as agentic technologies, customer expectations, accessibility practices, and industry standards evolve.
