About The Position

Jewish Family Service of San Diego (JFS) is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Access Supervisor for its Aging and Resource Navigation team. This full-time, onsite social services leadership role combines staff supervision, client intake, triage, crisis intervention, and community resource navigation. The supervisor leads the intake team, supports referral and intake systems, improves workflows and data collection, and helps connect individuals and families with appropriate JFS programs and community resources throughout San Diego. The position reports to the Director of Aging and Resource Navigation and collaborates with JFS program staff and agency partners to provide responsive, client-centered support and improve access to essential services. The role is split approximately evenly between supervision and intake specialist duties: about 18.75 hours per week in each. Supervisory work includes managing daily workflow, schedules, timekeeping, and problem solving; contributing to Access Systems Transformation; supporting implementation of new systems, workflows, and data collection plans; assisting with client crises and safety concerns; collaborating with JFS staff; and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy and security guidelines. Intake duties include responding to phone and web inquiries, meeting walk-in clients as needed, conducting initial assessments, identifying needs and safety concerns or barriers to services, screening and referring people to appropriate internal and external resources, documenting communications in an electronic client record system, and providing high-quality customer service. The position is non-exempt and pays $28.50–$30.50 per hour. It is fully onsite and requires passing pre-employment background check(s). The role regularly involves extended periods of sitting, walking, typing and using a mouse, handling small components, reaching, and communicating in person and by phone, potentially in a noisy environment; standing is occasionally required. JFS describes itself as a client-centered, impact-driven organization serving the wider community and is an equal opportunity employer.
