About The Position

DSI Security Services is hiring a Security Specialist to support a large, multi-building research and pharmaceutical campus in Princeton. The role requires alertness, professionalism, sound real-time decision-making, customer service skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking. Security experience is valued, but is not identified as essential. The position’s primary responsibility is access control and visitor management at a guard station. Specialists also conduct scheduled campus patrols, monitor activity, and respond appropriately to incidents or irregularities. The role involves alternating between a stationary post and active patrol duties and requires remaining engaged, observant, and responsive throughout the shift. Officers must reliably commute to the site.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Active SORA License required.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including comfort navigating systems and databases.
Strong customer service or client-facing experience.
Ability to think critically and problem-solve in real time.
Reliability, accountability, and professionalism.
Ability to remain engaged and attentive throughout the shift.
Ability to conduct foot patrols and work in various weather conditions.
Must pass all pre-employment screenings.
Must be able to reliably commute to the site.

Nice To Haves

Security experience is valued.
C CURE experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment through active monitoring and visible presence.
Manage visitor check-in and check-out systems accurately and attentively.
Conduct scheduled patrols of the campus, including foot patrols.
Monitor activity and observe, assess, and respond to incidents or irregularities using sound judgment.
Complete reports and documentation clearly and accurately.
Interact professionally and in a customer-focused manner with employees, tenants, and visitors.
Follow DSI and client-specific policies and procedures.
Remain engaged, observant, and responsive throughout the shift.
